This device simply plugs in to the user’s smartphone and has a clip in which the leaf of the plant is placed. The device then uses an in-built photo-sensor to detect the leaf colour and any anomalies in the pigments. Based on this data provided by the reader, the smartphone app will calculate and display the optimum level of nutrients and fertilizer required by the crop as a whole. With this new device, farmers will be able to gain the maximum yield with minimum resources. Which will bring about a new era of sustainable agriculture
